Hot Hot Hot

All summer everyone has been saying were is summer well it just got here and now everyone wants to know were fall is.The temperature sure did jump up, making it not very fun to go out of the ac. Hunter and I have been spending our days playing in the house, doing laundry and cleaning.

Also enjoying the last week that Brandon will be working from home. On Monday Brandon will be going into the office to work. Its such a bitter sweet thing. It has been so nice with him being home all of Hunter's life, he has been able to help me out in so many ways and has been able to see every big thing in Hunter's life. Nice thing about him leaving the house for work is Hunter won't want to just go upstairs and play with daddy every day and get mad when he can't. Hunter is a daddy's boy and he loves to spend every minute with him, when Brandon is here. So its nice that I won't have that battle every day that Hunter can't just spend all day with daddy. I will be sad to see my helper go, no more extra set of hands for me. This will be a big change for Hunter and I but I think we will manage. I am sure it will help us prepare for Weston too and it will be nice to have the next to months with just Hunter and I .

Busy Weekend

We had a busy but fun weekend, got to spend the weekend with a lot of people. Friday night we were invited to have dinner at the Connely's Home with friends. Hunter and Taylor played with Mackenzie while Austin Nikki's new baby boy watched them. Dinner was great Nikki made tacos and great homemade Guacamole.

Saturday we spent time with Brandon's parents and Aunt Cathy. Hunter played while Mike, Brandon and Taylor torn down the shed to make room for Mike's new shop. I worked on a project of mine and Judi helped me with the sowing it. Judi also made us a great dinner, Taylor made us chocolate chip cookies and of coarse Hunter brought the entertainment. Judi has always dipped her finger in her glass of wine and let Hunter have a taste. Well now Hunter knows what the glass is and wants to take drinks of it. So we are sitting at dinner Hunter points to Judi's glass of wine and says "I need, I need!" I told Hunter "Your not going to be able to go to Nana's because she is getting you hooked on wine." He responded "I know!" Then he just cracked up, it was so funny but no more tastes of wine for him.

Sunday we spent the day laying around, went on a family walk and then went to my Aunt Mary's for dinner. Dinner was great all the food was delicious but best of all we got to see everyone. My Grandpa Dick and Grandma Lynn were in town for the weekend from Arizona. It's always great to see them since we don't get to see them very often.

It was a great weekend but it was one of those busy weekends that you feel like you didn't get a weekend.

Play Time with Friends

Today Hunter and I met up with some other moms and babies from The Mommy's Group to play at Westminster Mall. I had been to that mall many times before but I never had been to the play area there.

I really liked it, the ground was squishy and the stuff for the kids to climb on was like a hard foam. So if your kids fell you didn't panic. Another thing that was great was that there was one opening for you to come in and out of. They also had a changing station there too. All the kids really seemed to like, they really enjoyed climb on everything.

This is a must check out place if you have children from crawling to about age 3. Another thing is they open it at 9:00am and right before they open it everything is cleaned. We got there at 10am and left around 11:30am, it seemed to get a little more crowded around 11:30am. So it was perfect timing.

Hunter was so wore out he was asleep before we got to the car.

Back to School Night

Tonight was Taylor's Back to School Night for the 7th grade at Fulton Middle School. Brandon went with me to the first period and then I was on my own for the other 5. I was really intimidated about going.....okay I was dreading going. I was dreading going because I knew I would be the youngest one there and not only am I young but I look about look about 7 years younger then I am. In the end it wasn't so bad although I was the youngest person there. I got to meet all Taylor's teachers and check out all his classrooms.

So you would think that since it was Back to School night they would have the all the bathrooms opened. Well nope towards the end of the the night I had to go potty since I had a baby sitting on my bladder. I walked to the first bathroom locked, second locked, third locked by this point I was ready to die. Walking with a full bladder when your pregnant is the worst but don't worry by the time I made to the forth it was open. You would think since it is Back to School Night they would have restrooms unlocked but I guess not. When you have to attend a Back to School Night make sure to go potty first because they lock the restroom doors.

All in all it was a good night and I think Taylor got a good set of teachers.

DIY Chalk Board Wall

Mommy's Little Helper

Yesterday I started to work on the playroom /Weston's room. I am doing one whole wall chalkboard for the kids to color on.

Things I used; chalkboard paint, black primer, wood putty, two 8'x4' sheets of 1/4" hard plywood, 220 grade sand paper, nails, and liquid nails.

1. I measured the area first, and went to Home Depot to have them cut the wood for me.

2. We nailed the wood to the wall and put putty where all the nails went and on seem where the two boards met.

3. Put Liquid Nails along the edge for a tight bond. I had to stick the nasal of the cocking gun in about a inch to inject the Liquid Nails. Then we pushed the wood on the wall where the Liquid Nails squezzed out, I wiped with a paper towel. After I wiped the wall with a wet rag.

4. Let putty dry and then sanded wall smooth where putty went.

5. Put two coats of Black Premier on, let dry.

6. Put two coats of chalkboard paint on, let dry 20 minutes in between.

7. Sand chalkboard with 220 sand paper.

8. Apply the last coat of chalkboard paint.

Now we have to wait 3 days to color on the walls.

Brandon and I did the prep work but we hired a painter to do the dirty work. Since he was already there to paint some other rooms. We used Derick Thomas the painter. He does great work and is really neat. He painted two whole rooms for us and got the job down in 6 hours.

We Don't Say it We Spell It B-A-T-H

Bath Bath Bath....thats all Hunter wants to do all the time. You can no longer say bath or bathroom in our home. If you say the word bath he wants one right now and won't let up. When you say shower he says bath.

I just got him letters to stick on the bath on the bath and he really likes them. My cousins Caroline and Libby got him a boat for his birthday than you can fill with water and he loves that too. Thank god he doesn't pour the water from the boat on to the floor. I am sure its only a matter of time before that happens.

He is so funny about the bath though he loves to be in there but he will not sit, he only spouts and stands. He also loves to eat the bubbles. Well here are a couple pictures enjoy.

Back and Running

Today we are back in to the full swing of things. I think we all woke up feeling great and not feeling sick at all anymore. Although we do cough from here and there.

Hunter had a sleep over at Nana's and Papa's house last night. Papa took Hunter to see Gigi, when he was there he ate Gold Fish, played with Gigi's bed and even got to work the AC unit.

Brandon and I went to look at a Buick Enclave and then went to look at bunk beds. We ended up really liking the Buick, its a really nice car, lots of room and drive smoothe.

Later during the day we went to Home Depot to pick out paint and get chalkboard paint for the playroom/ Weston's room. We chose a beautiful blue color called Winter Water Lake. Hunter enjoyed riding around in the race car shopping cart at Home Depot and looking at all the different paint swatches.

Taylor enjoyed his day with fun in the sun riding his bike around the neighborhood. Taylor will be back at school tomorrow after being out of school sick for the last week. He was really good about doing all his work he was missing when he was out. So he would be caught up when he goes back tomorrow.

Yellow to Green Nutri-Vet Green Grass

This summer are yard has been destroyed by Chuck our 8 month old Golden Retriever. We got yellow spots in our grass from every where that Chuck went pee. I went to Pet Supply store in Fountain Valley, they were so helpful on what I could do. They associate there recommended Nutri- Vet Green Grass Chewable for dogs.
Its suppose to remove the Ph out of there urine and after two weeks you shouldn't get yellow spots were they pee. Your also suppose to flood the yellow spots with water. So I flooded the yellow spots every day for a about 5 days and gave Chuck the Green Grass pills and now all the yellow spots are turning green and we are getting our green yard back. I am really happy with this product, it worked great. Chuck didn't seem to have a problem with taking the pills either, he just gobbled them all up. We now give him the pills every day with his food.

Clearing Out

Now for about a two weeks of Hunter, Taylor and I being sick. I think it might be clearing out. Everyone seems to be getting better, although we still have runny noses.

We have had lots of rest, Gatorade and Popsicles during the time we were sick, now we are excited to actually start being able to get out of the house.

Sick Sick Sick and More Sick

Well, we've had such a fun week in this household....not. Hunter, Taylor and myself have all been sick, not sure how Brandon got out of it this time around. I have not felt so sick in such a long time. The 3 of us have been staying home, watching movies, eating soup and letting Brandon wait on us. I know poor us we have Brandon to wait on us. Sometimes you just get what you can get....haha! No Brandon has been such a big help its been really nice. What would I do if he was sick? Oh I know I would be doing the same thing, but this time around I got lucky and he stayed healthy. He hasn't even complained about taking care of us.

Taylor, Hunter and I actaully got out of the house today, could you believe that? We got to go to the doctors. When we arrived at the doctors office we went into the sick room, ya the sick room, I have never wanted to go in there. There has been times I have taken Hunter in and was like no way in am I going in the sick room, even though he was sick. He is my baby and the kids in there are really sick. I would just take him to the well room and not let him touch anything. This time I had to really bite the bullet and march right on in the sick room because the three of us were sick; we were really sick. I gave the lady our info then sat down, relieved there were no other sick kids in there, as if they were going to make us more sick. Anyone who dared to walk through that door should think twice.

Well nope it couldn't be just us, not at all. The door opens up and here comes in a mommy and son. The mommy walks right up to the counter, checks her son in, then grabs a lollipop out of the dish to give to her son. My eyes probably popped out of their sockets, I was thinking, “Are you kidding me? What are you doing? My son knows what that lollipop is and now he is gonna be all over your sick kid to take that loli pop and its only 10am.” What kind of mom would do that to another mom? Now I am going to have to give my kid a lollipop just to keep him off your kid.

“Hunter and Taylor”...................Thank god they said ours names right as a I opening his lollipop. I hurried up to grab our stuff and scoot into the room giving Hunter two licks of the lollipop, and trashing it right as we got into the room.

The nurse comes in the room to check out Hunter. While she is checking him out he's chatting her up. Then she comes in to swab his throat, and what do you think this kid does? Yep, he closes his jaw, and not just closes it, he decides to totally lock his jaw up and force us to pry his mouth opened. We had to use a tongue depressor (popsicle stick thingy) and my fingers. Then, when we finally got it open what does this turkey do? Laugh, yep that’s right, he's laughing at us prying his month open. I bet he would have opened his month for the lollipop, I guess I should have saved it.

So here we are the three of us waiting for the doctor to come, while trying to keep my 2’ tall monster from destroying the room. He has already had his way with that stupid paper they lay down, and by having his way, I mean the kid has shredded it, thats right shredded it. It's not like I really stopped him, he was entertained for like 10 seconds, okay maybe 5. Whats the point in that paper anyhow, they should save some trees and use Simple Green.

Well look who it is, The Doctor, and look whos running out the door saying “Bye bye”, yep, my 2’ foot tall monster. Oh where is he? He's in the doctor’s office, yep the nice one. The one you only meet the doctor in when the child is still in your belly being good and contained. I find him throwing himself against, and grabbing, the doctor’s collection of stuffed animals. I hurry up and grab him, and as I am walking out I think “well if thats not the sick room, it is now.”

So in the end the doctor looked at the boys; its medication and rest for them. Thank god we can leave, I am sure the doctor was thinking thank god they are out of here. Anyhow it got me thinking, here we are three sick people, and this poor doctor has to walk into a 6’ by 10’ space with the three of us and our germs, and here I am avoiding the sick waiting room so I don't get my sick child sicker.

3d Ultra Sound

This weekend Brandon, Hunter and I went see Weston James in 3d. It was really nice to watch, although Brandon spent most of his time chasing Hunter around the room. Hunter was actually looking up at the screen saying baby. Not sure if he really knows whats going on or what is about to happen but he sure did love pointing to my belly going baby baby baby then will kiss the belly and blow kisses on my belly.

Here are couple of pictures you can see of Weston, there is also a ultra sound picture of Hunter and Weston side by side both at 27 weeks.

Last but not least a little video of Hunter.
