Taylor's Hair Cut

Taylor had been growing his hair out since before Christmas and he finally got it cut. Here are so before and after photos.

Before the cut.

There was so much hair on the ground.

Taylor after with his hair all styled.

When we got home the dogs even barked at him for a little while. Then when Weston woke up Taylor loaded him in the car and Weston pulled his head back and stared all confused like at Taylor.

Austin's Hardwood for Papa Mike

So I have been trying to think outside the box for gifts lately that are from the kids. Now that they are getting older I like and idea of them helping, making or picking something out. Father's Day was coming up, I was really trying to think hard what to get for Brandon's father/ Papa. He is a pretty simple guy and doesn't ask for much  or nothing. I finally had thought WOOD, I know that sounds weird but he is always in his shop working on projects and turning things. We have been lucky to get some awesome homemade gift from him that he made out of wood.

Brandon and I took the kids to Austin's Hardwood to pick out so wood for him. The kids each got to pick a piece of wood out to give him.

Weston picked out Walnut Burl. He was so cute holding on to his piece of wood.

Normally he is really good a saying cheese and smiling in photos but his was putting all his working into holding his wood up.

Hunter chose a Redheart. I swear he picked this piece cause it was the tallest.

Mike said that this piece was good, and he could make a bottle stoppers.

Brandon also chose a piece of Ebony. Brandon was really excited about his wood and thought it would be great because he dad would probably very buy that for himself.

I made a card for Mike from the kids. I saw this idea and it was cute a candy card.

Mike reading the card with the kids.

This is Was the card said:
Papa: We were going to give you a Whopping 100 Grand for fathers day but the money slipped through our butterfingers. We didn't have any Extra Whatchamacallit to sell and it wasn't Paday. We didn't think a pet Kitkat , a trip to New York or an Orbit around the Milkway would be appropriate. We do want to wish you Mounds of Almond Joy both Now and Later as you eat this card. We hope it doesn't make you Rolover and get sick. If it does we promise not to Snicker. We love you to Pieces

Taylor 8th Grade Dance

Taylor had his 8th Grade Dance.  This was his suit he had from a while ago. It fit him 2 years ago. This really shows how much he has grown. This year he has grown the most. Brandon colored some chest hair on his chest as a joke.

So I took him to get some clothes, he wanted black slacks, blue shirt, bow tie and spenders. Let me just say I took Taylor with both boys and it was an eventful trip to the store, never a dull moment.

Taylor and his friend Sean.

The day of the dance Taylor had one of his friends come over to get ready. Let me just say the smell of cologne was pretty intense on the driver to the dance.

This was the whole group of kids that got together to take photos.

Taylor with some of his buddies.

All the boys in a group photo.

His dance started at 6:30 and went to 10:0pm. It was a Mardi Gra theme, with a casino room. Taylor said it was a lot of fun but super hot inside. I know he wasn't joking because when I went there I could feel the heat coming out of the building.

Sun Catchers

I got the boys Melissa and Doug Dinosaur Sun Catchers to paint. Which let me just say they loved. Weston kept saying paint paint paint. They painted there sun catchers all, even Weston. I only helped with the nails.

Weston was loving dipping his brush in the paint.

After we dip we apply.

After he changed his colors up, which he would point to the color he waited.

Almost done.

Hunter working on his.

He was very focused.

This is what their dinosaurs looked like after they finished paint but before they dried.

Weston's all dry and hanging in the window.

Hunter's all dry and in the window too.

The Bouncy Egg

Stuff you will need vinegar, jar and egg.

Website I saw the Bouncy Egg project on.

Fill the jar up almost all the way. Hunter got to pour the vinegar in the jar and did really good. He didn't even slip any of it anywhere.

Weston poured his jar full too, but with help from me. So I could take a picture.

Placed our lid on the jar.

Now we checked it out.

Weston wanted to keep putting the lid on and off it was cute.

Tick tock!

Eggs on the counter now we wait two days.

The eggs changed color cause there was no shell anymore and they got about 30% bigger after the two days.

Hunter pulling his egg out and washing it.

Cheese while you hold the egg.

Sorry this pictured blurred he was showing me his egg.

Weston decide to throw his egg in the sink which popped it. So the egg will bounce but I would only do it from about 6 inches high.

The shell of an egg is made of calcium carbonate.  When you place the egg into the vinegar, you see bubbles, which is the chemical reaction of the acid in the vinegar reacting with the calcium carbonate to produce carbon dioxide.  You’ll also notice that the egg gets larger as it sits in the vinegar.  That is because some of the vinegar is absorbed in the egg through its semi-permeable membrane!
