So I have been trying to think outside the box for gifts lately that are from the kids. Now that they are getting older I like and idea of them helping, making or picking something out. Father's Day was coming up, I was really trying to think hard what to get for Brandon's father/ Papa. He is a pretty simple guy and doesn't ask for much or nothing. I finally had thought WOOD, I know that sounds weird but he is always in his shop working on projects and turning things. We have been lucky to get some awesome homemade gift from him that he made out of wood.
Brandon and I took the kids to Austin's Hardwood to pick out so wood for him. The kids each got to pick a piece of wood out to give him.
Weston picked out Walnut Burl. He was so cute holding on to his piece of wood.
Normally he is really good a saying cheese and smiling in photos but his was putting all his working into holding his wood up.
Hunter chose a Redheart. I swear he picked this piece cause it was the tallest.
Mike said that this piece was good, and he could make a bottle stoppers.
Brandon also chose a piece of Ebony. Brandon was really excited about his wood and thought it would be great because he dad would probably very buy that for himself.
I made a card for Mike from the kids. I saw this idea and it was cute a candy card.
Mike reading the card with the kids.
This is Was the card said:
Papa: We were going to give you a Whopping 100 Grand for fathers day but the money slipped through our butterfingers. We didn't have any Extra Whatchamacallit to sell and it wasn't Paday. We didn't think a pet Kitkat , a trip to New York or an Orbit around the Milkway would be appropriate. We do want to wish you Mounds of Almond Joy both Now and Later as you eat this card. We hope it doesn't make you Rolover and get sick. If it does we promise not to Snicker. We love you to Pieces.
