Kids Craft - Wind Chimes

During the summer I saved up a bunch of cans when I was making my homemade spaghetti sauce. I had seen a cute craft on pinterest for making wind chimes.  The whole family sat down to paint the cans and the lids. It was a lot of fun and great to see everyones creativity.

We put the cans out in the sun to dry. Once the paint dried I sprayed them with a clear spray paint and sat them in the sun to dry again. After the clear coat finished drying I took a hammer and nail to puncture the top of the can. I punctured the lids at the edge.

Next I tied a knot with my string and pulled the string thought the can. I did this step over until all my pieces of string were through the cans. I also made my strings different lengths. Once all my strings were pulled through I bunched the strings together to make a knot at the top for them to hang from.

Just as I was hanging the wind chimes up a storm rolled in and we got hear them blow around in the wind.
